Yuhao Zhang
PhD Student, Oxford Robotics Institute
I am a PhD (DPhil) student in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, started in 2025, under the supervision of Prof. Maurice Fallon. My research interests lie in mobile robotics and spatial AI, with a focus on developing multi-session semantic visual SLAM methods using 360° cameras to enable long-term robotic autonomy.
Previously, I completed an MPhil in Advanced Computer Science at the University of Cambridge (2024/25). For my master’s thesis, I worked on multi-robot trajectory planning with denoising optimization and was fortunate to be supervised by Prof. Amanda Prorok, Dr. Keisuke Okumura, and Dr. Ajay Shankar. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Manchester (2021/24), where I began my research experience in Simultaneous Localization and Mapping with support from Prof. Mikel Luján and Mihai Bujanca.
